Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Read Because of It's Title or Cover

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish
This week's topic is Top Ten Books I picked up based on the cover or title.
Honestly, when it comes to YA... Books gotta have a nice cover. It's just a given. It's gotta look good on my booshelf. (Bad I know) But that's just how I pick books. Sad thing about that, is a bad book can be cleverly masked by some pretty awesome covers! (Fooled me multiple times)  So here's a few I LOVED, a few I HATED, and a few that had covers just too beautiful not to mention!
In no particular order:
Die For Me - Amy Plum
The cover is absolutely beautiful. Soon as I saw it I knew it was a definite "MUST READ"... Didn't disappoint at all!
Across The Universe - Beth Revis
Completely drawn in by the fact that this cover slightly resembled one of my all time favorite movies. Loved the book. Know I'm going to love the series!
Wither - Lauren DeStefano
This book is known for its absolute cover beauty. Bloggers were showing it off left and right. So I had to have it. No doubt about it. Although the story didn't quite live up for me.. The cover makes up for it ten fold!
Hourglass - Myra McEntire
This book's cover isn't just beautiful, it's mind boggling and tells absolutely nothing of the awesomeness within it's pages. I had to read this just to know what the heck that cover meant. Glad I did. Loved the book.
Nightshade - Andrea Cremer
The purple color mixed with the glittery sheen...yup had to have it on my book shelf for sure! The series is amazing and I can't wait to read more of it.
XVI - Julia Karr
The cover caught my attention. The summary had me interested. The story... fell flat. Sorry to say.
But I Love Him - Amanda Grace
I wanted this book the second it started popping up on goodreads. It's absolutely beautiful. Sadly I can't say I loved it. The book was ok... but worth the buy.. probably not so much.
Delirium - Lauren Oliver
This beautiful cover and it's hidden secrets (the picture beneath the cover flap) were two of the main reasons why I bought this book. I only wish I had enjoyed it a bit more.
Bad Taste In Boys - Carrie Harris
I had this on my wishlist FOREVER! Bought it the day it came out! Read it pretty darn quick. A beautiful cover like that mixed with a storyline involving zombies. I'm game! After reading it though... I still have no idea what the cover has to do with the actual book?
Wildthorn - Jane England
I bought this book because it was pretty. Had no idea what it was about. Went into reading it without even glancing at the summary. Wow was I surprised. Did I love it. Meh.. not so much.

  1. I absolutely love the covers for Delirium, XVI, and But I Love Him. Though I did enjoy the books as well.
Great list you came up with!

  2. Hourglass made my list too. I love how they're making it look like Gravity isn't working properly.
