This Weeks Question
Q. Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?
My Answer
I know I've said it multiple times in more than a few of my reviews but I'm totally gonna say it again...
Give me a good love triangle and I'm sold!
Something about the whole unrequited love thing, mixed with secrets, lies, and jealousy! LOVE IT! I know most people have been ranting lately about the overuse of love triangles in YA, and sometimes it can get annoying (mostly when the love triangle isn't really much of a triangle) but this book blogger can't get enough!

Here's a list of a few of my favorite Love Triangle Books!
(1) Personal Demons - By Lisa Desrochers
(2) Matched - Ally Condi
(3) - Shade - By Jeri Smith Redi
(4) - Firelight - By Sophie Jordan
(5) Nightshade - By Andrea Cremer
(6) The Summer Series - By Jenny Han
(7) - Clockwork Angel - By Cassandra Clare
(8) Vampire Academy - By Richelle Mead
AND SO MANY MORE!!!!

If anyone else has a suggestion for Love Triangle books.. Just let me know! I'd love to add to my list!
Have a Happy Follow Friday Everyone!!!

  1. Ohhhh yes when Love Triangles are well written I really love them :) I don't like the stupid ones, where the guys just gush over some girl who's obviously never going to love them back, but whatever LOL!

  2. Those are some good love triangles there! I have to admit, as much as I complain about love triangles, I do like them! They have to be written well though! I've come across a few that felt like the triangle was there just to have it!

  4. YES!! I love the love triangles in YA. I do agree with you in that some of them are thrown in and don't make sense exept to add unnecessary conflict. However, most of them are amazing and I love them. I think it's something between having the two amazing guys that are almost opposites vying for the attention of the beautiful MC. I love the options that each provides. That and well, the jealousy and lies are always exciting to read.

  5. Wow! I've never heard anyone say that they want love triangles. I hate them, lol. But, they're starting to grow on me. I'm glad you like them. I always want the third wheel to die a horrible death.

  6. That's really interesting! Have you ever read The Once and Future King? It's a little different from what you usually read, but it is an amazing book on all fronts and...Lancelont/Guinevere/Arthur. What more need I say?

Also--I feel blasphemous suggesting a movie on a book blog but I'm going to do it anyway--you should watch Tristan & Isolde. Some people are critical of it, but WOW, what a love triangle...

  7. I'm glad you shared a list of books with good love triangles in them. I'm up for a love triangle as long as it'a a "real" one. Most of the books you have listed are on my TBR list but I haven't read them....yet. Looks like I need to get reading.
