  3. I'd have to say my favorite dystopians are The Handmaid's Tale, Brave New World, and 1984. Yes, I'm an old school kinda girl!! That said, I haven't yet read the Hunger Games trilogy (*wince*)... and I do love Divergent and Insurgent!! But so far... I'd still stick with the older ones, probably because I read those when I was much much younger, kind of like "you kids these days" are reading Hunger Games and Enclave and all that in your formative years. :)

  9. I haven't read all that many of the new YA ones to be honest but I really liked The Immortal Rules and The Hunger Games (who didn't?). An older one I found really scary and at times hard to get through because it was so terrible and so possible was The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

  103. Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld

    ReplyDelete
  104. I love the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman. The creepiness and overall realism is just amazing. Not to mention the amazing characters. I also really love how there was a romance, but it was kept in the backseat, like it should. I feel like most dystopians try to put the romance first and the dystopian world is just a means to get the two characters together instead of being the focus. In Unwind, it is the opposite. The world building is amazing and the romance is a small subplot that is fun, but doesn't get overly soppy.
