Review: Timeless - By Alexandra Monir

Summary
When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.
Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.
Review
I finished this book in about 5 hours. It was a "couldn't put down" kinda read. The overall plot was interesting although kinda familiar. I kept playing back scenes from The Time Travelers Wife in my head lol! And although that can be looked at as a drawback..I don't really see it that way. I loved the Time Travelers Wife and the whole idea of time travel itself. So it's no surprise that I really liked this book. I loved the romance...and how the story played out... except for one thing.. the ending. I was content with the way I "thought" it ended. I wish I could post more details but I don't wanna spoil anything. While reading the last chapter or two..I thought to myself...ok thats a cute ending I guess...not ideal but cute. And then the author throws in that little extra surprise. I understand that surprise meant a sequel but really...was that needed? I like the ending for this book. It was ok. I didn't need more. If the author wants to give me more... Ok I guess??? 4 stars from me. I liked it..and i'll read the next one... I'll admit it..I'm curious where the story could possibly go from here?

  1. Ya, I'm not a big fan of sequel bait. I understand why authors do it, but I wish they wouldn't. Great review!

  2. This book is total romance and swoon worthy. Michele has to move after the death of her mother. She is moving in with grandparents who she barely knows. Michele does her best to adjust but fate has other plans for her.
