I've been avoiding writing this review for a few days now. I figured now is a good time to finally sit down and get my thoughts out. Honestly as I was reading I was constantly torn between a four and five star rating. The Vampire Academy fan in me couldn't even imagine giving anything written by Richelle Mead anything less than four stars that's for sure. But was this book worthy of five? I think what we have here is a classic case of a filler novel. Not a bad thing of course. Although a little annoying. I understand the need to really get close to a whole new set of characters and the importance of familiarizing ourselves with a whole new world, but that tiny part of me that still clings to the old Vampire Academy ways found it hard to stomach at times. I wanted MORE!!! I NEEDED more!!! Where's Dimitri? And this new less confident Adrian? Meh. All that aside... The story was pretty awesome. The mystery kept me guessing.(Always a plus) And the ever important ending. OMG the ending!!!! Yup that just sealed the deal. Richelle Mead you clever clever author you!!!! The book ends with two words!!!!! And those two words!!! Well what can I say??? Not gonna spoil it for you guys lol! Just go read this book! Love it like I did! And wait ever so impatiently for the next one just like I am! lol! Five stars from me! I just had to give it the best rating possible. I couldn't possibly give it anything less! So when's the next one coming out again?
I fell in love with this book based on its ending too. It was amazing! I definitely agree with you on the filler novel. It was a bit of a let down in comparison to Vampire Academy, but I still loved Adrian and know that the story will pick up as the series progresses.
