Review: Angel Burn - By L.A. Weatherly

Summary
Willow knows she’s different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people’s dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he’s one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil. In the first book in an action-packed, romantic trilogy, L..A. Weatherly sends readers on a thrill-ride of a road trip - and depicts the human race at the brink of a future as catastrophic as it is deceptively beautiful.
They’re out for your soul . . . and they don’t have heaven in mind.
Review

I actually like this book alot. The pace was set perfectly, the whole take on angels, definitely something new, the romance was spot on, characters were entirely loveable... The compliments could go on and on. Actually there isn't much in the negative aspect I can say about this book at all. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was a fault entirely my own. I rushed the ending. This book was taking me a while to read because of my busy schedule lately and that was getting to me. So I'll admit I skipped through the last few chapters just for the sake of finishing the book. Everything before my mad rush to then was amazing, but sadly the ending just didn't do it for me. A little too mushy perhaps? I guess the whole "our love is so great i'm blind to reality" thing just got to me. The angels are taking over the world!!! Why the heck is everyone so happy??? I dunno. Besides that, I loved the book! Can't wait till part 2!

  2. LOL, I do that too. Not necessarily skimming but sometimes I rush the ending just to finish the book, it often ruins it for me.

  3. This is one of those that I've wanted to read for quite some time, but I've seen mixed reviews, but I love yours short and to the point. Good job.

  4. I really liked the first half of this book, but I agree that towards the end, there was a little too much of Alex and Willow just hanging out being in love. It was sweet and all, but I wanted the story to move forward. Still, the whole evil angels thing is a great concept, so I'm going to keep reading the series.

  5. The main characters in the story are well developed. I really like Willow. She's kind natured and strong willed. I love that she likes to work on cars. That totally sounds like me when I was that age. She loves her mom more than anything, and cares about her friends and the people around her more than she probably should. (I didn't really care for her BFF in this book.) I really liked Willow, and was rooting for her the whole time. Alex is strong and determined, smart and really totally hot. (Strong, silent type. My fave!) He's determined to rid the world of the angels'. Towards the middle of the book we get to see a softer side of him. I really enjoyed their interactions, and watching their relationship grow.
