Suspense, Love, Greek Mythology! This book had it all! Review: The Goddess Test by @aimee_carter

 Summary
It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall. Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.
Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

Review
I had really high hopes going into this book. I saw it circulating around the blogging world. Mixed reviews. Some liked it... Others... Not so much. Well, add me to the pile that LOVED it! The first few pages were a bit slow, and that had me testing whether or not to continue reading, but after those first few pages! Wow does it pick up! This book is worth the push to the end! Trust me. I have to admit, I'm really starting to get into books that include Greek Mythology. That had to be my favorite part of the book, reading about the gods, guessing who's who and what's what. Falling for Hades of all people!!! Henry dug deep into my heart, I felt his sorrow, smiled when he showed those few hints of happiness, totally jumped for joy when he.... (well you'll have to read the book to find out that last part.. NO spoilers!) lol! ;) This was truly an amazing read, and I'm kinda regretting that it took me so long to finally pick it up! It didn't deserve to sit on my shelf that long! If it's sitting on your shelf right now... You should pick it up! Definitely worth the read! 5 stars from me!

Luckily I've only gotta wait a few months till the sequel! Goddess Interrupted makes it's debut on March 27th! Can't wait!

  1. I have also been unsure about this book - like you said I have read a lot of mixed reviews. I really love the sound of it though and will probably pick it up in the middle of March so that I can read both books together! ;) (That's right, I'm sneaky like that!)
