Reviewing my first audiobook! Tempest by Julie Cross @Juliecross1980! One word... WOW!

 Summary
The year is 2009.  Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.
Review
This was my first audiobook experience. I've never really taken interest in audiobooks... didn't really ever plan on buying one... and then I won this one in a giveaway. Now I'm pretty thankful for that giveaway! I LOVED THIS BOOK! The fact that it was on audiobook... EVEN BETTER! It's honestly opened a whole new world of reading for me... one that I plan to continue! The book itself was a clever take on time travel. I've read a lot of time travel books these past two years.. but this one definitely stood out. A thrilling ride from start to finish! I loved the fact that it was told sorta like a journal.. with chapters that were short yet incredibly full! So much would happen in just a few pages... it was almost hard to keep up! Not a bad thing.. trust me! If your looking for a book that has hints of romance, and keeps you captivated with it's mystery from the first chapter. This is definitely a book worth picking up. The ending brought a mixture of emotions for me. There was the part of me that felt sad.. yet also felt right. That ending fit the story perfectly. The entire story was perfect to me. Another great book to add to my favorites list! So... is there a sequel?? Someone tell me there's a sequel!! I'm totally up for reading more from this author and from this story!

  1. So glad you've entered the world of audiobooks! They're a necessity in my life as I listen to them while running (much more attention grabbing than music). This is a good one to start with too. :)
