This might be the best book I've read all year! Review: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Rating

Summary
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men—thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the kings council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.

Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Review
I'm not exagerating when I say this; All hail the book gods for sending this book my way!
During a time of great desperation! This book reader needed a book like this to renew my faith in reading!

When starting Throne of Glass, I was amidst the darkest of reading slumps. Weeks and weeks of books that were simply ok.. nothing heart wrenching, nothing mind blowing, nothing worthy of those infamous five stars. Don't get me wrong, I've been reading some good books, but I needed something better, I needed something GREAT!

Throne of Glass was that book!

I know I've said this a few times before, but I'm saying it once again, books like this are the reason I read!

Throne of Glass drew me in from Chapter 1! The main character, with her strong yet clever personailty, I absolutely loved pretty much everything that came out of her mouth. Especially when it came to her conversations with our two heros. I couldn't wait to read what happened next! As for our heroes, well I simply couldn't resist them! I know it's a love traingle and only one guy can get the girl in the end, but I might just have to be on both sides just this once. The ever so romantic prince. The silent yet cunning captain. It makes my heartbeat flutter just thinking about them!

Throw these characters into a world filled with enchanted castles, secret passageways, forbidden magic, and so much more.. This book has it all! Love and heartache, happiness and betrayal, I can barely contain the emotions.! I might even say this book could be my all time favorite this year! I couldn't get enough! This was one of those books that you notice your nearing the end and secretly hope there might be more! It could have been 1000 pages long, and I wouldn't have minded at all! I'm so ready for more!

Five stars from me for this brilliant read!
