Top Ten (Or maybe 6) Books That were totally deceiving... in a good way! ;)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and The Bookish. This week's list is...
Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving

I found this book during the Twilight craze. People were complaining about there being too many vampire books out there and all that blah blah. I'll admit it. I was a little on the fence about it. In fact I didn't buy it until I found it at a B&N sale for $2.99. Three bucks seemed like an ok amount to spend on a book I didn't really expect to like. Oh boy was I SURPRISED!!! This book was AWESOME! The entire series is AMAZING! And to this day.. It's still a favorite of mine that I've reread about three times!
I found this book in the clearance section of Books A Million! It was a used copy reduced to $2! Most people would think... Well.. if it's that cheap.. must not be much of a good book. Wrong! This book was beautiful! OMG! I'd give anything to read more from this series! The entire series left my heart aching and begging for more! If you haven't read this series yet. You totally should!
People were raving about this book by the masses! I can't even count the number of reviews I read gushing about it before I was finally convinced to read it. In fact, it sat on my shelf for months! The title throws you off a bit? Right? At least it did for me. Anna and the French Kiss? Really? YES REALLY!!! I'm so glad I read it! I've been in love with Stephanie Perkins books ever since!!!!
I've confessed my love for twilight before. I'm a twilight fan through and through. I was fairly new to the reading scene when I heard about The Host. Looked it up.. wasn't surprised to find tons of negative reviews. Twilight bashers galore! Then actually looking at the book and it's MASSIVE size... Yeah I waited on this one! BUT when I finally did read it! (After buying it for 3 bucks from Hastings) I was definitely surprised! This book was great! Still a favorite actually! Can't wait for the movie! :D
Don't get mad at me Armentrout fans. I'm sorry for ever doubting you!!!! People kept telling me to read this book! No lie! It was recommended to me at least more then 20 times by different bloggers. Still I waited because I just wasn't sold on the cover. (Don't judge a book by it's cover.. I know) Needless to say I finally did pick it up a few months ago and I've been obsessed with Aiden St. Delphi ever since! ;)

And I LOVE the cover! I'm still drooling over the cover of Pure (the second book in the series) It's so blue and glowyish (I am fully aware that's not a word).. it's beautiful!

And last but not least! The ultimate deception on the list!

I read this one years ago. Back then, there weren't as many fans of the series as there are today. There were a few good reviews, but there were TONS of bad reviews. I was new to the book reader world.. I didn't know where to look besides good reads and youtube. So I put this book aside for months. Didn't even give it a second glance. Glad I finally gave in! I LOVE THIS SERIES! In fact this series in #1 on my list of favorites! #1!!! Classic case of not letting those bad reviews get to you! Lesson learned on my part! Bad reviews are common. Some few and far between. But their still there even for the best of books. This book blogger doesn't really read them anymore. It's worked out better that way!
At least for me!

  2. I have The Summer i Turned Pretty and the sequel waiting on me, think I'll read them...this summer:0 I loved The Host! I am a Twilight fan too (ducks and runs) and I didn't want to read The Host because I was afraid I would hate it and be totally let down after enjoying Meyer's other books. Wrong! I think I actually appreciate The Host more, and really, really wish we'd see a sequel one day! Great list!

  3. Totally agree with the Vampire Academy series! The cover is what made me skeptical at first, but it turned out to be amazing! I still need to read the others on your list, especially City of Bones.

  5. Agreed with 4 out of 6 of your picks. The only reason my vote isn't completely unanimous is because I haven't read two of the series. When VA first came out I jumped on it and have been obsessed ever since!
